Mark Montag will talk about grafting queens at home in our June meeting. We plan to do a hands-on grafting workshop at Garry’s that following Saturday.
Garry Mullen will bring in a 10-frame Langstroth hive where he uses a division board to reduce it to the size of a nuc and then expand the box as needed.
We meet back at Garry's workshop. Garry Reeves will be telling us how to evaluate queen bees. We all know that while the queen really doesn't rule the hive, it still takes a vigorous, healthy queen to make the best hive. Bring your veils!
The second workshop in Garry's three workshop series. Bring your materials and safety glasses. You MUST have safety glasses!
Garry Reeves will present equipment repair in December. Winter is the best time to repair old equipment or build new based on your goals for the 2018 bee season. See you there!
We're looking at Saturday December 9th (the second Saturday in December) for the SIBA Christmas party. Keep an eye out for details, but in the past, we typically start at 6pm and everyone brings a dish, appetizer or dessert to put on the table!
Jason Morgan will demonstrate how to make a candy board that can offer some peace of mind over the winter... especially if you think your hive is really low on honey stores. The candy board will be raffled off after the meeting.
The monthly general SIBA meeting that occurs the third Thursday of each month. Check the specific date to get the meeting topic.
