We now have small hive beetle in Southeast Indiana. We'll post articles here about the SHB and what we can do about it. We should do our best to keep our hives strong. In some areas... SHB tends to be worse in shaded areas vs hives in full sun. But, we have seen plenty of beetles in full-sun haves as well. The SHB seems to attack a hive like the wax moth by starting in on weaker colonies with vacant space in the hive. There are chemical and non chemical ways to deal with these pests just like any other. Find more info below.
